Welcome to
Coos Canyon Cottage #8
|
Coos
Canyon Cottage #8, is a four season rental property located in the
heart of the Western Mountains of Byron Maine. It is nestled in a
private setting just steps away from scenic Coos Canyon. Take the foot
path outside your door down to the River’s Edge and go for a
swim, pan for gold and just sit and relax on the rocks.
The cozy cottage has an open fully-equipped
kitchen, dining and living
area with a small glassed in sun room with built in window seats,
perfect to enjoy your morning cup of coffee and newspaper. Upstairs are
three bedrooms, one has two twin beds and a set of bunk beds, the
second has a set of twin beds and master bedroom has a full size bed
with sky light. The cottage has a full size bathroom with a washer and
dryer. A wood stove in the kitchen makes a pleasant
addition to the oil heat on chilly days.
Off the kitchen are glass doors that lead out onto a covered
porch where you can use the outdoor charcoal grill or start a campfire
for the kids to make S’mores.

Coos Canyon was formed by the violent
action of the Swift River as it
poured from the Western Mountains across the metamorphic units that
underlie this area. The waters of the Swift River also carry with it,
flakes of precious metal from a "mother lode" somewhere out in the
hills; making this a popular vacation destination to pan for GOLD!
Although this tranquil setting is perfect for a family vacation, Byron
Maine has over 200 miles of maintained ATV trails along groomed
Snowmobile trails which are all accessible outside the cottage door.
You can ride amongst some of the most breathtakingly beautiful scenery
in Maine.

For those who enjoy hiking, Tumbledown
Mountain trail head is only a few
miles from the cottage. Tumbledown offers trails of varying difficulty
for different hikers, the most outstanding aspect of the mountain is
Tumbledown Pond. The Pond is situated at approximately 2,800 feet and
is surrounded on three sides by higher elevations. Of Tumbledown's
three peaks, North Peak is the highest at 3,090 feet. East Peak and
West Peak are only slightly lower.
No matter what your recreational activity is there is no need to go any
further than your doorstep since Coos Canyon Cottage #8 is surrounded
by hundreds of acres of untouched forest, streams, lakes and beautiful
scenery. |
